Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at Ballarpur Institute of Technology was established in 2022 and has been constituted as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education's (MoE) Innovation Cell to systematically foster a culture of innovation, intellectual property rights (IPR), entrepreneurship and start-up among students and faculty.

Established under the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell in association with AICTE, the IIC works to build a vibrant local innovation ecosystem within the institution. It encourages students to engage in idea generation, problem-solving, design thinking, and the development of innovative prototypes, while strengthening linkages with industry, incubators, and the start-up community.

Throughout the academic year, the council organises a range of activities such as innovation and entrepreneurship workshops, expert talks, idea and pitching competitions, hackathons, and awareness sessions on IPR and start-ups. Guided by a structured action plan aligned with national innovation initiatives, the IIC promotes IPR, innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up culture, nurturing students into future innovators and job creators.
