About the Department
The Department of Business Administration was established in 2011 at Ballarpur Institute of Technology. Within a short span of time, it has grown into a renowned department in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Despite the institute's location in a mofussil area, students actively seek admission to its MBA programme.
The department has highly qualified and well-experienced faculty across the diverse fields required for business studies. It offers 12 dual specialisations provided by Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, along with two new specialisations introduced as per market and industry needs: Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The department has a strong placement record, with students placed in national and multinational companies.
The Department of MBA organises a range of activities to enhance students' individual skills, providing an environment where they can grow and develop for both employment and entrepreneurship.

Message from HOD
Welcome to the Department of Master of Business Administration at Ballarpur Institute of Technology.
I currently serve as Head of the Department and Associate Professor in the MBA Department, a role I have held since 2016. After completing my MBA, I began my career in industry as an HR Officer for three years before moving to academics in 2005, driven by a keen interest in teaching and research.
My academic journey began at ICFAI Business School as faculty of Organisational Behaviour and HRM across Chandrapur, Nanded, and Vijayawada. I later worked with the Raisoni Group of Institutions, Nagpur, and Orange City Institute of Management Studies, Nagpur. In all, I have contributed over 24 years of combined experience across industry and academics.
Research & Publications: 20 research papers published (1 Scopus, 3 ABDC, 12 UGC, and 4 others) and 4 books authored — Organisational Behaviour; Performance Management and Compensation; Training and Development Practices; and Human Resource Management.
Honours: Academic Excellence Award 2018 (ICBM-AMP, Hyderabad) for Best Professor in Performance Management; Outstanding Contribution in Management Education 2019 (MTC Global, Bangalore); and the National Excellent Teacher Award 2025. Life member of ISTD (New Delhi), ICA, NIPM (Kolkata), and MTC Global (Bangalore).
